First of all, who doesn’t like First Friday Art Walk in downtown Springfield? It’s where a bunch of boutique shops, restaurants, and galleries feature local artists and their work for those perusing their way downtown the first Friday of every month. You can buy art or simply admire it over a pint or glass of wine. The awesome thing is First Friday is always changing, and October 7th is no exception.
But Jana! What is Happening October 7th?
I am glad you asked – have you heard of Inspired Boutique? It is this awesome little corner shop on the corner of Market St. and McDaniel which features some lovely vintage and high-end second-hand articles of clothing. And tomorrow they are having an in-store fashion show with food sponsored by Patton Alley Pub.
I had the pleasure of going in there the other day and talking with the ladies who manage the store, and though I intended only to stay a few minutes, it ended up being closer to an hour.
They do something unique and different each First Friday, and the store itself has a chic touch to it many other resale shops lack. In fact, when I first walked in I didn’t think it was a resale shop at all.

The cool thing about Inspired Boutique is it falls under the Abilities First Nonprofit. This means the profit they make from selling clothes all goes to the abilities first foundation. Their vision is to expand opportunities, empower voices, and enable people with developmental disabilities to realize their dreams. You can find out more by visiting their website or by visiting their store. Everyone working within Inspired Boutique is nothing short of lovely – but be careful, once you go in you might not want to come out!
