This is something I’ve always wondered – who’s been checking out my FB profile. Could it be a potential employer? An old school mate? Your EX?! It’s always been a curiosity of mine – and now, you CAN tell who’s been looking at your FB profile. And no, you don’t have to download an app in order to do it. With a little bit of know-how, you could be spying on who’s been spying on you!
Step 1: Open up your FaceBook Profile (NOT your FaceBook timeline)
Step 2: Go to the left side of your FaceBook Profile, right click your mouse and click on “View Page Source.”
Step 3: A new page with a bunch of code should open up.
Click “ctrl” and the letter “f” at the same time. A search box should open up.
Step 4: Type “InitialChatFriendsList.”
Go down a few lines until you see the word “list (boxed in red)” and a bunch of numbers (boxed in orange). There should be a long string of numbers followed by a dash and another number.
Ignore the parenthesis, the quotations, the dash and the additional number, and copy (“ctrl” and “c”) the first long string of numbers.
Step 5: Go back to your FaceBook page, and at the end of the URL, paste the numbers (“ctrl” and “v”). This will show you who has been looking at your page.
You can keep going back to the source page and copying the list of numbers and pasting them in the URL to find out everyone who’s been scoping you out.
If this proves to be a little difficult, there is a walkthrough on YouTube which walks you, step-by-step through the process. Check it out here:
