It’s still winter, but it’s been feeling a lot like spring (especially this past weekend). I am definitely not complaining, but just because the weather has been fluctuating as much as my hormones were during pregnancy doesn’t mean it is going to last. So, in the event you need to warm up, this Saturday would be the day to do it. If you couldn’t tell by the title, it is the annual Sertoma Chili Cook-off!
Sertoma Chili Cook-off Saturday, February 25th
What: 36th Annual Chili Cook-Off which benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Springfield
With over 70 teams presenting their best chili at this event, there will be beer, bands and more!
When: Saturday, February 25th, 2017 11:00am – 5:00pm
Where: Springfield Exposition Center
Fee: $15 in advance (purchase tickets here) or $18 at the door.
What is Sertoma?
Sertoma is one of the oldest service clubs in the United States – it’s a nonprofit organization which raises money for charity. Operating nationwide, they have deep roots in the communities they serve locally. The Springfield area Sertoma Clubs focus on the needs of at-risk youth in Southwest Missouri.
Not only is it going to be a delicious event, but it is going to be fun for the whole family while supporting some awesome nonprofits in the Springfield area. My recommendation is to get your tickets as soon as possible. Hopefully, I will see you there!
