It’s that time of year again, and though children are abuzz with all the goodies they are going to get from trick-or-treating, often this time of the year leaves many parents stressed out. The reason? This is the time of year the MOST traffic accidents and casualties happen – yikes!
According to an article by US News, car accidents are the thing to fear most on Halloween. Children are more than twice as likely to be killed by a car while walking on Halloween night than at any other time of the year, according to the organization Safe Kids USA.
As such, there are many things you can do to keep your kiddos safe on Halloween – there are a few tips here.
If you live in Springfield, Missouri or surrounding areas, there are many safe neighborhoods to trick-or-treat in, or other festivities happening where your child leaves happily with a bucketful of candy you can dive into long after they’ve gone to sleep.
