Have you heard of Gamble’s Photography? Surely you have heard of Erin Gamble – she has made her way around marketing, advertising and creative circles alike in Springfield, Mo and has quite the reputation as a photographer! And her photos are nothing short of stunning, spectacular, striking and a slew of other adjectives that begin with the letter ‘S’.
Here are some of my favs:
I met Erin in a business networking circle here in town, and I personally love this WeDame – she is fun and charismatic and has a full schedule running a successful business with two littles of her own in tow. But what I love MOST about her is her ability to take engagement photos that are authentic and different.
Breaking Away From Carbon-Copy Engagement Photos
I don’t know why, but when I see engagement photos on Facebook or various other platforms, I get a knot in my stomach. They all look the same to me. Not to dog anyone out there who has had it done the traditional way. (Laughs nervously) I mean, how would I know, right? I’ve never had engagement photos taken…or been married…in the States at least.. BUT I DIGRESS!
There is nothing wrong with traditional engagement photos, but they do seem somewhat monotonous to me. There is always the bride-to-be standing in the distance with her fiancée gazing longingly in her direction, or the “we are so happy to be together that’s why we can’t stop laughing” photo, and let’s not forget smiley butterfly kisses. They are all warm and sweet photos, but I crave something different…I crave authenticity.
Oh yes, give me a photographer who dresses in camo and stalks her clients unnoticed, from afar, all the while shooting their figures unbeknownst to them. *In walks Erin Gamble*
Finally! A photo session which breaks away from the mold! Check out these bad boys:
Yes…she was in camo and the bride-to-be had NO IDEA she was getting her pictures taken.
Gambles Photography – More Than Just Photos
One of the things that I first noticed about Erin was her passion for art. While engagement, wedding, family and maternity photos do take up a chunk of her time, she also has taken uh-mazing boudoir and newborn pictures, while also excelling in commercial photography. In fact, her specialties include underwater photography and light painting. Check this out!
Boasting an A+ with the Better Business Bureau, Erin has also been featured in local and national magazines, and has even shot a few celebrities…with her camera, people. Geez! Notables such as Willy from Duck Dynasty, past pro-baseballer Rick Ankiel and a slew of other big wigs have seen and been seen through Erin’s lenses.
Getting To Know Erin Gamble
When I asked her what her favorite photo shoot was, she admitted, “Anything with lots of emotions, from births to weddings.” She also has a soft spot for secret proposals as I am sure you can see from above.
She received her first camera when she was 10 and hasn’t stopped shooting. She knew then and there what she wanted to be when she grew up. Personally, I am still trying to figure that out for myself – if you had your life figured out as a preteen I may be slightly jealous.
Erin was the youngest photo editor for her highschool’s yearbook and started small by taking senior pictures for her friends. She started Gamble’s Photography while still in high school, and kept her passion business on the side while attending MSU. She majored in advertising and minored in photography and design. In 2012, her schedule with Gamble’s Photography went from part-time to full-time, and she has been doing it ever since.
She admits she loves doing one big fine art project per year and has recently revisited one of her old loves – film.
But Wait, There’s Myrrh
Remember when I said Erin was a WeDame? That’s because she is, and she is also a product sponsor for our next Ladies’ Night Out. She is giving out 30-45 minute photo shoots for FREE during November and December of this year – yep, those cold winter/holiday months (in case you didn’t get my myrrh reference).
Need a quick idea for Christmas cards for your relatives? Are you a lady or identify as one? Then be one of the first 30 women to attend our next Ladies’ Night Out and get a free studio photo-shoot with Erin. Does it get any better than that?
In summary, I believe that results never lie. Erin is a young, talented artist who not only has that special X-factor quality that gives her photos an edge over others, but is someone who actually cares about the people she shoots…with her camera, that is. Her whole thing is about being a person’s photographer FOR LIFE – not just that one-off family photo shoot. A word to the wise, if you do use her in a photo shoot, you may never use another photographer again – she is that good.
Check out her website here and book her for those winter photo-shoots now!
