So my sister moved into town and she is a massive fan of white wines and food pairing. I am more of a red kinda gal, but I enjoy a good white wine especially when paired with the right cheeses and entrees. That gave me inspiration for this particular article…that and the fact I am at Brown Derby’s International Wine Store at least once a week perusing the aisles for cheeses, crackers, fruits and intoxicating adult beverages which go with them.
If you are planning a wine and cheese pairing, a dinner party or spending a more upscale evening on the couch with Netflix and your cat, here is a list of cheeses and foods which go with Sauvignon Blanc!
What Cheeses Go With Sauvignon Blanc
Herb cheeses such as Le Roulé and Boursin
What Foods Go With Sauvignon Blanc
Roasted Artichoke Salads, Arugula Salad or any fresh salad with light vinaigrette dressing
Oysters on the half shell
Shellfish and crab meat (the real kind…not the imitation crab)
Grilled fish or other seafood like crab cakes
Fresh or raw veggies such as guacamole, pico de gallo, bruschetta, etc.
Pastas with buttery, oily or creamy sauces such as Alfredo, or aglio olio
Lightly seasoned chicken

Keep in mind, Japanese food, Mexican food, Thai food and Greek food go great with this wine. Add a girlfriend or older sister (or two) and you’ve got yourself a party! Remember to drink responsibly Springfield, Missouri!
