I’ll be honest, there are several networking groups out there, (I would know, I’ve been to a lot of them), but there is only one Courageous Business Connect, and it was formed by none other than the uh-mazing Kat Williams. But before we talk about this incredibly dynamic woman, let’s talk about the power of networking and how it affects your business.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, business owner or tossing around the idea of starting your own business, there is one thing you are going to need and that is a network of like-minded people referring business to you and vice versa. In essence, the more helpful you are to your network of business peeps, the more they will want to help you out in return. Whether you are a seasoned business networker or are just getting started, there is definitely one group you will want to get connected with, and that is Courageous Business Connect.
I have been Networking for a long time but I can say that CBC is totally different than any other Networking groups I have been part of! The members are all positive! It is amazing to network with other business owners that are all about integrity! I love that Kat is bringing us (small business owners) and the community back together. People ask me all the time how is it different? I tell them you need to come visit if you want a true connection to other like-minded business partners! Courageous Business Connect is setting a new standard above any other group and we are growing! I value my CBC business partners and I am privileged to be part of this group! – Stacy Davis, Owner of Stacy Davis Financial Services
What makes Courageous Business Connect different from other networking groups has a lot to do with Kat herself. She was with the Masterminds of Business (MOB for short) for a number of years and supported the founders immensely when they started. She met people, started chapters and was key in making the MOB what it is today. As time went on she felt it was time to start something of her own, and thus, Courageous Business Connect (CBC) was born.
Kat Williams has created an amazing place for business professionals to meet, connect and grow their businesses through relationships. This is a meeting I am actually excited to attend. The calibre of people Kat attracts is amazing. Here three rules of Honesty, Integrity, and The Golden Rule hit me just right. If you have not been to a CBC meeting you are missing out on a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the best people on the planet. -Franya Isley, Owner of Café Franya
Meet and Greet!
This group launched on June 19th, 2018 and already has several chapters. When you first walk into one of the CBC meetings, you are greeted by almost everyone in the room and you are blasted with copious amounts of positivity. Kat starts her meetings with positive affirmations and ends with your homework being to make at least two connections with people in the room before leaving. This makes CBC a lot of fun and a great way to kick start your day.
Not Industry Specific!
Another cool thing about CBC is it isn’t industry specific. In many business networking groups, there is only one spot reserved for a specific industry. For example, you can’t have two residential real estate agents in the same chapter as members. In CBC however, you are allowed to have more than one real estate agent in the room. Kat’s reasoning is this: sometimes your perceived “competition” can become your best referral partner. One residential real estate agent may focus on foreclosures while the others primary focus is a specific neighborhood in Springfield, MO. Sometimes scaling your business requires you pick a specific niche.
I love going to CBC for the positivity and like-minded business connections. It’s all about building relationships and meeting new people. I appreciate that Kat will also bring in nonprofits and community leaders as keynote speakers. I get a real sense of community by being a part of this group! – Kellie Pierce, Real Estate Agent and Mary Kay Consultant
Incredibly Reasonable Monthly Fee!
If that isn’t enough, the price of joining CBC is $20 a month. That’s it! That gets you into all the chapters AND you can even present your business during the spotlight segment at all the other said chapters! I think that is pretty awesome!! In a traditional setting, you are only allowed to present at your home chapter. Sure, you can visit other chapters but it is rare if you get to present your business for 10 minutes at one of them.
No Attendance Policy!
If you can’t make it to a meeting because you are closing a deal or facing familial or personal things, you don’t get penalized for it. That makes it easier on entrepreneurs who travel or are having a baby, or is getting married, or whatever!
The thing about CBC is they put relationships and people first – it’s founded on integrity, honesty, and the golden rule and was spearheaded by a lady who, despite her own trials and tribulations, has an ENORMOUS heart and lives by these three rules daily.
I love seeing entrepreneurs sore to new heights! That is what I see Kat doing in this arena of networking. She truly loves helping people grow into their God-given potential while also connecting businesses with the community. It all works together to build a strong economy for us all. – Twila Walker
Kat Williams – Wonder Woman of Springfield
Kat is a wonderful lady – it has been said from many accounts when she walks in she lights up the whole room and puts a smile on everyone’s face. For someone who has been through so much, it’s obvious her trials and tribulations have made her stronger, happier and compassionate. It’s lovely to know someone who hasn’t been made bitter through life’s twists and turns, but instead has been humbled by them.
Kat was a hotel manager for 10 years and this is where she discovered her love of people. Being in the hospitality industry shapes you in this way – you can’t avoid people and she isn’t one to do that. She can walk into a room full of strangers and leave having made friends with all of them! She decided to leave the hotel industry and pursue another company she’s been with since 2009, LegalShield. LegalShield proved to be a better fit for Kat – being a hotel manager, you are on call 24/7, and with three kids you are looking after, that isn’t exactly easy!
A single mom, Ms. Kat Williams currently boasts three daughters and three grandbabies! But it came at a price. After having three heart-wrenching miscarriages she feared she would never know the blessings of being a mother. Fortunately for two little girls, she realized she had too much love to give and adopted her two eldest daughters from an abusive household in another state. Her third child Vanessa, a bubbly entrepreneur like her mom, miraculously followed a few years later and is what Kat refers to as her “Miracle Child.” Vanessa wasn’t expected but was celebrated and welcomed with open arms.
Her husband, Vanessa’s father, left the family but that didn’t harden her heart either. This Steel Magnolia charged forward and took care of her mother for a year before she passed away in Kat’s home. She had had hip replacement surgery where her blood became tainted and she died of cirrhosis of the liver. But in Kat’s world, everything is a blessing.
This woman has been through it all: divorce, miscarriage, betrayal and death, but you would never know it upon meeting her. She shines brightly and still has way too much love to give.
I strongly feel that her purpose is to help and connect people together. She is so giving, loving and understanding of people, it is inspiring. Mother Theresa once said, “God doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle, I just wish he didn’t trust me so much!” Despite her hand, nothing is slowing down this woman. She is truly an inspiration to me and I’m sure to everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her.
I am grateful to be part of this business group. I have been in several “other” type groups, but this is a great time. I really appreciate the relaxing feel of just business partners just finding a way to connect and grow. Huge kudos to Kat Williams for stepping out of the boat and focusing on the vision. Glad to be a part of this new venture. – Robert McClernon, Owner of Extra Mile Home Inspections
