I love Gilardi’s – and if you haven’t been there yet, it may be time for you to pay them a visit because their food is amazing! AND most of it is grown in their front yard or sourced locally – double bonus! My first time visiting this delicious establishment was back when Celine and I did a review for them, and it was love at first bite. If you like Italian food and fine dining, look no further than Gilardi’s Ristorante!
On Wednesday, September 7th 2016, at roughly 6:00pm ladies dressed in beautiful summer gowns and dresses, donning floppy hats and sunglasses, made their way through the front door of this Italian Ristorante to the romantically lit back room where food and fun commenced. I had an absolute blast and it was an honor meeting friends old and new at our Ladies’ Night Out. Where do I start? With the food of course!
Gilardi’s featured three of their delectable appetizers for the evening: made-from-hand meatballs in Gilardi’s house marinara sauce, their sinfully succulent smoked trout dip and their homemade blushing bruschetta. I was so happy – and the ladies in attendance were in accord with my satisfaction. The only slightly negative remark we received on Gilardi’s food was there not being enough of it!
*Personal note to self – in the future ensure there is more food for our lovely ladies*
On a side dish…I mean note…if you want to attend an AWESOME beer-filled event at Gilardi’s Ristorante, check out their upcoming soiree Oktoberfest! They are cooking up some uh-mazing German food and then pairing it with Mother’s beer! Does it get any better than that? Better grab your seats fast, I have a feeling this event may be over capacity – for more details on this event, click here.
What Goes on at Ladies’ Night Out?
The answer to this question is, “wouldn’t YOU like to know!” But I won’t be so brash….THIS time….
We kicked off the night with an ice-breaker game or two, except it went much deeper than merely exchanging names and how we make a living. We had the opportunity to ask each other questions we otherwise never would ask each other upon first meeting – questions such as “If you had a superpower, what would it be and why,” and “What is your secret talent,” and let’s not forget, “Describe your sex life with a title of a movie.” That one always gets the room buzzing.
Wine and beer wetted our palettes, which helped loosen up a couple of the wall-flowers – those who are a bit timid meeting people for the first time (like me). Let’s be honest – it takes courage going to an event and meeting new people (especially in an age where almost everyone claims to be one form of introvert or another). So with a bit of alcohol, AKA liquid courage, many entered the event as strangers and everyone left as friends. So, to all the ladies who attended this round, you have my admiration, respect and applause – you did good girls!
With all the ladies in attendance, we also voted for best-dressed. The winner was the lovely Allison, and she took home more than a goodie bag – she took home fall candles, candle holders, awesome hair products, lotions and more. Well done Alli – keep dressing the part!
We also had a lucky draw at the end of the evening where the lovely Connie Craven, an awesome masseuse who offers massage specials for teachers, won an iceless wine-chiller. I have a feeling that machine is going to see a lot of love this coming October (*wink* to fellow MOB members).
In the end, the event was a hit, and we are excited to have a few more in the works in the future. Though we do try to hold them once a month, my crazy hectic schedule doesn’t always permit such novelties, and by 2017 we wish to see that Ladies’ Night Out becomes a monthly occurrence… and let’s not forget our launch party as well! Will give you more deets on that in the future!
